Housing Assistance

CalWORKs Housing Assistance is available to meet the reasonable costs of securing permanent housing, to prevent eviction, and to meet the costs of temporary shelter while the family is seeking permanent housing.

Eligible families can access this program once every 12-months (some exceptions may apply, ask your Job Specialist for more details).

CalWORKs HA can provide:

  • Payments for temporary shelter for up to 16 days
  • Payments to get or keep your housing (including a security deposit and last month’s rent, or up to two months of back rent)

A collective of Fresno and Madera County service and housing providers that work to end homelessness in our community. The FMCoC works to actively provide a coordinated delivery system to assist homeless persons in achieving housing.

Offers temporary emergency Safe Housing for adults and children escaping domestic violence. MMC also has other housing options that provide assistance to eligible families affected by domestic violence.

Fresno Housing Authority

Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8), Public Housing Rentals and conventional housing programs assist eligible low to moderate income residents by subsidizing a portion of their rent. Other programs are available to qualified applicants.
