Orientation, Training, Class, Notes             New Provider Orientation

To enroll to be an IHSS Care Provider, you are required to attend a New Provider Orientation. This is a free, in-person training course conducted by the Public Authority staff that will provide a basic understanding of the program and your responsibilities as a Care Provider such as: Rules and regulations of IHSS, Policies and procedures for being an IHSS Provider, Timesheets, Fraud & Mandated Reporting.

This class is also for Providers who have been inactive for more than a year and are re-enrolling as a Provider. This class is offered in English, Spanish, Hmong, Armenian, Lao, Cambodian, Mandarin and Punjabi and does require pre-registration.

IHSS Registry Provider Application Workshop

The IHSS Registry Provider Application Workshop is the first step to becoming an IHSS Public Authority Registry Provider. During the workshop, potential Registry Providers will complete an application and turn in the required paperwork (three letters of reference; original valid photo ID and original Social Security Card). More information regarding the steps to becoming a Registry Provider.

Introduction to Becoming an IHSS Registry Provider

This course is designed to train potential IHSS Registry Providers on the rules and regulations of the IHSS program and the IHSS Public Authority Registry. The focus of the training is to equip the Provider with the necessary skills to be an effective Registry Provider, as well as understanding the Provider/Recipient working relationship. Some of the topics covered are: Authorized and unauthorized tasks, Completing timesheets, IHSS Registry Provider responsibilities, Recipient responsibilities, Fraud & Mandating Reporting. This class is offered in English and Spanish and requires pre-registration.

CPR, First Aid, Training

   IHSS Registry Provider CPR & First Aid

The Adult CPR & First Aid course is a combined class that is offered to Registry Providers through the Public Authority. CPR & First Aid are only offered to Registry Providers. This course is free of charge and is a requirement to be eligible to be on the Registry. CPR & First Aid are offered to current and active Registry Providers whose CPR & First Aid will expire. This course is offered in English and Spanish and requires pre-registration.
