Requests for Recorded Documents can be made
in person, by mail, or completing a request using our self service page. We do not accept requests for copies by phone, fax, or email. Please be sure the information you supply is complete and accurate.
We can provide certified copies free of charge for persons who had their discharge recorded in Fresno County. For persons whose discharge was recorded in other counties, contact that county's Recorder. Fresno County's Veterans Service Office can assist in obtaining information from other agencies.
To obtain a certified copy of discharge records you must be one of the following:
- The person who is subject of the record
- A family member or legal representative of person who is subject of the record
- County office that provides veteran's benefits upon written request of that office
- United States Official upon written request of that official
