Pretrial Services, assists the Court by assessing the release eligibility and suitability of pretrial defendants. Probation Officer assesses individual cases by interviewing defendants, verifying information with references and completing criminal history background investigations. Following the initial assessment, the agency's provides an alternative to detention by monitoring a defendant's performance through the pretrial period and by GPS Monitoring. Pretrial Services help monitor a defendant's adherence to court-ordered release conditions, which may include drug and alcohol testing, and refer individuals to outside agencies for any necessary counseling.
