Please encourage a culture during this pandemic that encourages employees who are displaying symptoms to stay home sick. Consistent with the obligation to provide a safe and healthy work environment, the County encourages employees presenting COVID-19 symptoms to stay home, and will temporarily suspend the application of the disciplinary provisions of attendance policies for all employees who stay home because either the employee or a member of their immediate family presents COVID-19 symptoms, or the County Department of Public Health advises the employee or their immediate family, as defined herein, to stay home for a defined period. Please become familiar with the provisions of the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA), including protocols and benefits available to impacted employees.
