As you have heard, the outbreak of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to spread both in the United States and globally. The CDC maintains a website with an updated list of locations of confirmed COVID-19 cases. Locally, the Department of Public Health is working closely with the California Department of Public Health (CDPH), and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to closely monitor COVID-19.
Many of your questions regarding COVID-19 can be addressed by contacting your Department Human Resources representative or via information contained on this website. If you need to contact a Human Resources Department employee directly to discuss issues related to time off, your safety, or other important Human Resources issues, please call the Human Resources COVID-19 information at 600-9008 during business hours to speak to a Human Resources Department employee. We are here to assist you.
Support for Employees
The County is dedicated to keeping our community safe during this time and we want to make sure our employees know we are here to support you. Any employees who are ill and need medical attention should first call their medical provider who can provide specific guidance. Please talk to your Supervisor or Manager if you aren’t feeling well and stay home if you are sick (talk to your medical provider about obtaining a medical certification). The County’s dedicated Public Health team continues to actively monitor and respond to this situation. We will keep you informed when new information emerges.
What is the County Doing to Prepare and Respond?
Public Health has been actively monitoring the situation and preparing for several weeks to respond to keep the community safe. Please watch this brief video from Public Health on the COVID-19. Additionally, Internal Services (ISD) will be providing additional routine environmental cleaning of public counters, handrails, door knobs, and workspaces in publicly accessible areas at all County locations. ISD is also providing signage and eservices banners that remind employees and the public of actions that help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Human Resources is working with departments on options to manage the situation.
