planetIn this age of growing environmental awareness, it has been recognized that precautionary steps must be taken to protect our environment. While some are doing all they can to keep our environment clean, others are committing crimes that harm the environment.

Environmental crime affects all of us because it threatens public health and our natural resources.

Environmental crimes involve:

  • Contaminating water by dumping chemicals into gutters, streams or rivers
  • Releasing pollutants into the air
  • Improper disposal, storage or transportation of hazardous wastes (i.e. pesticides, chemicals or radioactive materials), garbage or used tires.

The Fresno County District Attorney's Office in partnership with the County Department of Public Health - Environmental Health Division is diligently working to bring to justice those who harm the environment.

Help protect our environment by reporting environmental crimes to your local law enforcement agency.
