EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY (Updated March 23, 2020)

Until further notice we will restrict public access to the County Clerk office at 2220 Tulare Street, 1st Floor, Fresno.  However, County Clerk personnel continue to process transactions received by mail. 

  • Fictitious Business Names, EIR, Notary filings and requests for Confidential Marriage Certificates, must be submitted by mail.
  • Passport Acceptance services, wedding ceremonies, notary services have been suspended until further notice.
  • Call 559-600-2575 for information regarding Issuance of Marriage Licenses to Fresno County residents.

  • Notary Public signature - $15.00 per signature
  • Notary Public Filings (once commissioned by California Secretary of State) - $43.00
  • Bond recording - additional page - $3.00
  • Power of Attorney added - $4.50
  • Journal Surrender Fee - $10.00*

  • Surrendered notary journals shall be returned to the county in which the current official oath of office is on file.
  • Notary public’s name, commission number and beginning and ending dates of journal entries must displayed inside the front cover(s) of the journal(s). Please note any name changes.
  • Name and address of person returning journal shall be included with the submission.
  • Fee of $10 payable to County Clerk is required.
  • Notary journals can be mailed to 2221 Kern St, Fresno, CA 93721 or hand-delivered to our Clerk Services office at 2220 Tulare St, 1st Floor, Fresno, CA 93721
