Fresno County parks reopen following hazardous tree removal

FRESNO, CA – Fresno County has reopened Kearney Park, Lost Lake, and Choinumni Campgrounds after completing work to remove hundreds of hazardous trees. The parks had been closed as crews worked to remove more than 300 trees that had been left damaged or destroyed due to the extended period of drought.

Thanks to the quick work of crews and favorable weather conditions, project completion and reopening of the parks is well ahead of schedule.

This work is part of the County’s ongoing efforts to address high tree mortality resulting from the drought and ensure public safety. For the latest information on park hours, please contact the Fresno County Resources and Parks Division at (559) 600-3004 or visit http://www.co.fresno.ca.us/departments/public-works-planning/parks
