Paramedic Training Program
The Fresno County Paramedic Training Program is in affiliation between Fresno County and the State Center Community College District. The course is taught at the Fresno City College Fire Academy located at the Career Training Center near East Avenue and Annadale Street in Fresno. Because of the affiliation, all paramedic students are eligible for 30 College Units.

The program is conducted each year beginning in April and consists of the following hours:

608 hours Lecture/Workshop (includes national curriculum requirements of anatomy/physiology and all testing/final testing hours)

Clinical Internship:

200 hours clinical observation and skills performance

Field Internship:

480 hours of field internship

Entrance Requirements
The following are minimum entrance requirements for the Fresno County Paramedic Course:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Current Certification in BCLS (American Heart Association Healthcare Provider or American Red Cross - Professional Rescuer)
  • Current EMT-I Certification in the State of California
  • One year EMS Field Experience
Eligible candidates will be required to complete the following:
  • Entrance Testing
  • Written test in English, mathematics, and basic EMT knowledge
The tuition for the Fresno County Paramedic Training Program is $6,047.00 and does not include the cost for books and supplies. The cost for books and supplies is additional and is estimated to be approximately $400.
