Fresno County District Attorney, Elizabeth A. Egan, welcomes you to the District Attorney's website. The mission of this Office is to enhance public safety, welfare and security in the community through the prosecution of criminal and civil crimes in a just, efficient and ethical manner.

The Fresno County District Attorney's Office is one of the largest prosecuting agencies in California. This Office consists of approximately 230 employees including skilled prosecutors, investigators and support personnel who, under the direction of District Attorney Elizabeth A. Egan, handle more than 50,000 criminal cases each year in Fresno County.

District Attorney Elizabeth A. Egan is the lawyer for the people. As the elected chief prosecutor for Fresno County, she represents the people of the State of California in all criminal matters in Fresno County. The duties of the Fresno County District Attorney's Office range from prosecuting criminals and investigating criminal activities, to providing legal and investigative assistance to other law enforcement agencies throughout Fresno County.

This Office is dedicated to seeking justice through the fair, equal and vigorous enforcement of the criminal laws, while protecting the rights of victims and witnesses.
