Quality Parenting Initiative
Join Us and Make a Difference in Child Welfare
The Quality Parenting Initiative (QPI) was developed to ensure that every child removed from their home due to abandonment, abuse or neglect is cared for by a resource family who provides skilled, nurturing parenting while helping children maintain connections with their family.
Fresno County values the exceptional work of caregivers; i.e. relatives, county resource parents, and foster family agency resource parents, and is committed to improving upon the work we do together as a team. Resource Parents of the 21st Century are committed to providing exceptional care to our youth in care while continuing to remain focused on the commitment to work towards permanency. Together, caregivers and Fresno County Department of Social Services can ensure the best outcomes for our youth and keep these children's best interest at the heart of the work we do.
Resource Parent Brand
Fresno Resource Parents are respected, skilled members of the child's team who honor each child's individual experience and need for Permanency. They have shared values of supporting and developing lasting relationships with the child, the child's birth family, and connections. They are our neighbors who provide nurturing homes and become specially trained advocates in meeting the diverse needs of children in their care.
