Welcome to Purchasing

Purchasing is responsible for acquiring most goods and services required by the County that exceeds the County's own resources. Some notable exceptions are public projects, library materials  and court ordered services. While there are processes and procedures in place to respond to almost any emergency or expedient situation, the normal acquisition process consists of the departments identifying their requirements, budgeting for them and submitting a requisition to Purchasing. Based on the nature of the requirement and working in unison with the requiring department, Purchasing develops and manages the acquisition strategy expected to produce the most beneficial outcome for the County. The goal is value added contracting, that is to satisfy the departments' requirements by purchasing quality goods and services at fair and reasonable prices and having them delivered or performed at the right place and at the right time.
